When I point out facets I have never got the impression that they'd noticed them on their own.

As a librarian--helping students out, I find them extremely valuable--especially when I'm searching a topic I'm unfamiliar with.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06065487603101846799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4280274159041790516.post-86124408549832772592008-03-31T16:13:00.000-05:002008-03-31T16:13:00.000-05:00I concur that facets help me think about how a sub...I concur that facets help me think about how a subject is framed. What I like even more are catalogs that include book covers - in an instant I can tell if I've already read the book!pamelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863521150619399041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4280274159041790516.post-88844096852086019932008-03-31T16:09:00.000-05:002008-03-31T16:09:00.000-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.pamelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863521150619399041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4280274159041790516.post-26691796196455876442008-03-28T10:35:00.000-05:002008-03-28T10:35:00.000-05:00I like the facets. It's somewhat akin to Amazon's "More like this" feature but a little more formal. I am not a normal patron, nor do I know what a normal patron (whatever that is) - let's say a student - would think about it. The issue of "screen clutter" is always mentioned but then I look at some of the screen clutter on popular social networking sites and it seems like a non-issue. I guess it depends how focused one is on finding a particular item as opposed to investigating a topic.

Susan B.S.
